SERVICES
At Hempfield Animal Hospital, we believe that prevention is the best medicine you can provide for your animal companion.
Routine wellness care provides a foundation on which your pet can enjoy a lifetime of good health. Wellness exams provide us with the opportunity to get to know you and your pet better and to answer any questions or discuss any concerns you may have.
Wellness exams also allow us to gather an accurate picture of your pet's overall health. This allows us to monitor any changes so that any potential concerns can be addressed in a timely manner, and develop into a more serious condition.
Puppy & Kitten Exams
We recommend any newly adopted puppy or kitten be examined at a young age to assess their health. Once they are examined, we can recommend or begin their appropriate vaccine series. All puppies and kittens will be dewormed and parasitic status evaluated.
Comprehensive Wellness Exams
Annual exams are important to help ensure the health of your pet. At your pets comprehensive exam, we will assess your pets general health status and administer necessary vaccines against life-threatening diseases. We will also perform a microscopic fecal examination to identify certain internal parasites.
Dental Services
Your pets teeth need care too! With our dental unit, we can clean and polish your pets teeth. In addition, we can perform all necessary extractions and minor oral surgery. Our digital dental radiography can further help us in evaluating your pets oral health.
Surgical Services
Our surgical services include spay, neuter, growth removal, abdominal surgeries, and certain orthopedic procedures. Pricing estimates available

Diagnostic Imaging
On-site ultrasound is an offering unique to a practice of our size. This imaging provides a look at internal abdominal organs, allowing quick and effective decision-making without going offsite.

Digital X-ray is another distinctive of our clinic. Not only can we provide this level of imaging quickly and easily, but we share those images with you to discuss implications for next steps.

Diagnostic Testing
Our in-house laboratory tests include standard serum chemistry and complete blood counts. In addition, we can test heartworm, lyme and other tick-born diseases, feline leukemia (FeLV) and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) status. Through in-house microscopic examination, we can test for intestinal parasites and test for external parasites through skin scrapings. An outside laboratory is used for more specialized testing. Pricing estimates available.
Laser Therapy
Our unique on-site laser therapy is an ideal treatment option for a wide variety of situations. This gentle bio-stimulation promotes relief for chronic and acute pain, wound healing, treatment for infections and post-surgical healing from incisions, dental extractions, tissue recover and more.

That therapy comes with the added bonus of our fan-favorite "doggles" to protect your pet's eyes.

Senior Services
Early disease detection is important for a better response to treatment. At comprehensive senior examinations, we assess the general health of your older pet and detect potential health problems before they become more difficult and expensive to treat.

We may recommend bloodwork and discuss options for preventative care and pain management (such as with arthritis). Geriatric pets should ideally be examined every 6 months, especially those with known chronic health issues (such as heart disease).
Laser therapy is also an ideal treatment option for older pets who can't tolerate certain medications for inflammation or orthopedic issues.
